About this opportunity
Clayton County Public Schools in Georgia is requesting proposals for sculpture design services for the District's Performing Arts Center, with proposals due June 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. EST under RFP 024-22. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for May 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., with a non-mandatory pre-proposal conference the same day at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom.
Proposers must have a minimum of two years of experience working with students and creating and installing permanent sculptures. The sculpture must depict the Fine Arts Department areas (Dance, Music, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts) and be designed in collaboration with CCPS high school art students throughout the entire design process. The District will manage site preparation including above-ground root removal, topsoil, and seeding, and will provide a film production crew to document the creation process. Various art classes may be bussed to the sculptor's studio or work sites to observe.
The cost proposal accounts for 25 percent of the evaluation score; the technical proposal counts for 75 percent. All costs—design, materials, equipment, tools, supplies, labor, and travel—must be submitted as a single line item. The initial contract term is one year with potential for two additional one-year renewals, terminating June 30th of each year. Contractors must maintain $1 million general liability and automobile liability insurance and register with E-Verify.
Questions are due June 2, 2022 at 3:00 p.m., with answers posted by addendum June 8. Oral presentations and interviews, if necessary, are scheduled June 27–July 1, 2022. CCPS intends one award but reserves the right to make multiple awards or no award. Proposals remain valid for 90 days from submission and become CCPS property. An addendum acknowledging the site-visit and pre-proposal-conference details must be completed, signed, and submitted with proposals.
