About this opportunity

Monroe County Schools Nutrition Services is requesting proposals from staffing agencies to provide nutrition assistant workers at all school site locations throughout the district, with proposals due June 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and questions due May 26, 2026.

The scope covers as-needed food service staffing for six nutrition kitchen locations, including both temporary and permanent personnel available for shifts of 4 to 8 hours, Monday through Friday, with assignments made in advance, on short notice, or on the morning of the shift. The staffing agency bears responsibility for all employment-related costs, background checks, employment eligibility verification, onboarding, and compliance with federal and state labor laws. The district reserves the right to permanently hire any as-needed staff member after 520 cumulative hours without penalty or conversion fees.

The contract term runs July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with options to renew for up to four additional one-year periods upon mutual agreement. Pricing must be structured as a base hourly wage established by the district plus a vendor markup percentage covering payroll taxes, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, administrative costs, recruiting, and profit; the markup percentage must remain fixed during the contract term unless approved annually for adjustment. Invoices shall be submitted weekly or bi-weekly with detailed employee and billing information.

Evaluation criteria weight cost/markup percentage at 30 points, experience with school food service staffing at 20 points, recruitment and staffing plan at 15 points, onboarding and screening at 15 points, scheduling technology at 10 points, and references at 10 points. The district reserves the right to award to one or more vendors and will announce the award within approximately 60 days of proposal opening. Respondents must submit a written request for the specification package and submittal format requirements to danny.durham@mcschools.org or the mailing address listed in the posting.
