About this opportunity
Southwest Georgia STEM Charter School in Schley County, Georgia, is seeking proposals for a comprehensive FY 2025 School Campus Paving Project that involves expanding and reconfiguring parking infrastructure. The project specifically requires adding 82 new parking spots in front of and adjacent to the middle/high modular complex, which includes altering the existing driveway to accommodate two-lane traffic with a dedicated bus lane. Key project deliverables include installing 3 additional loads of base material, applying a 2-inch depth of asphalt across the designated area, placing 82 bumper blocks, and creating 2 handicap parking spots with comprehensive lane and parking area striping. A bidders' conference is scheduled for February 25, 2025, at 3:30 PM ET in Shellman, GA, with written questions due by February 27, 2025, at 4:00 PM ET and proposal submissions due February 28, 2025, at 4:00 PM ET. The evaluation criteria will assess cost (6 points), project completion timeline (pass/fail), business location (2 points for in-state vendors), and previous positive working relationships with the school (2 points).
Vendors must comply with Georgia's Immigration and Security requirements, including submission of an Immigration Compliance Affidavit and participation in E-Verify programs. The procurement opportunity appears open to all qualified contractors, with potential preference given to in-state businesses. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly stated, vendors must complete several mandatory forms including a Certificate of Non-Collusion, Tax Compliance Form, and Supplier General Information Worksheet. Insurance requirements are comprehensive, mandating Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability ($1M per occurrence/$2M aggregate), and Automobile Liability ($1M combined single limit). Though a specific budget range is not disclosed, the project involves significant infrastructure improvement with multiple technical requirements. The State Entity reserves the right to award the contract without further negotiations, selecting the highest-scoring responsive and responsible supplier based on the total combined evaluation score.
