About this opportunity
The Rose Bowl Operating Company (RBOC), acting as an agent of the City of Pasadena, is seeking proposals for a comprehensive Point of Sale (POS) system to be implemented across the Rose Bowl Campus, which includes the Rose Bowl Stadium, Brookside Golf Club, and surrounding grounds. The procurement requires design, development, production, and implementation of a complete POS system with specific hardware requirements, including 135 permanent terminals, 495 handheld devices, 10 kitchen display system tablets, and 5 kitchen display system printers. The proposed system must include touchscreen displays, wireless and ethernet connectivity, digital receipt options, payment device compatibility, and integration with existing digital systems. Evaluation criteria will consider project delivery (30%), experience and references (10%), cost proposal (30%), local Pasadena business status (5%), small/micro-business certification (5%), proposed solution (10%), and stadium investment (10%). Key dates include a mandatory pre-proposal meeting scheduled for February 28, 2024, at 9:00 am, with questions due by March 5, 2024, and proposals due by March 12, 2024. The initial contract term is one year, with potential price adjustments based on the Consumer Price Index.
The RFP indicates a preference for local Pasadena businesses and includes provisions for small and micro-business certifications, potentially offering advantages to qualified local vendors. Proposers are required to make a minimum annual stadium investment of $25,000, which can be fulfilled through premium seating, Legacy Foundation pledges, or sponsorship purchases. While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed, the evaluation criteria provide some preference for local and small businesses. The system must be capable of operating in both permanent and temporary locations throughout the Rose Bowl Campus, including the stadium, concourse, parking, and tailgate areas. Proposers will need to demonstrate comprehensive technical capabilities, with the City of Pasadena's Department of Information Technology conducting a rigorous pre-deployment certification process that may take up to 30 days. Although a specific contract value is not disclosed, the extensive technical requirements and campus-wide implementation suggest a significant investment in the new POS system.
