About this opportunity
The New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities is requesting quotes for roof replacement at the Taconic DDSO Facility in Brewster, New York (Tioga County), with quotes due July 10, 2026, and a mandatory site visit on June 24, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
This is a New York State Public Works project subject to prevailing wage requirements. Contractors must register with the New York State Department of Labor under Labor Law Section 220-i and demonstrate a minimum of five years of residential roofing experience. All contractors and subcontractors must provide their Federal ID number and NYS SFS Vendor ID number. Bidders must indicate whether their business is registered as minority or woman-owned, though no set-aside or preference program is stated in the source.
The scope is complete removal of the existing roof down to the original decking and replacement with approximately 23 squares of 30-year architectural asphalt shingles in Charcoal color, including ice and water shield, synthetic underlayment, metal flashing, ridge vents, and aluminum-wrapped fascia where necessary. All materials must be from a single manufacturer; GAF-ELK Materials Corporation products are specified as the basis of design, though comparable products from CertainTeed Corporation or Owens Corning are acceptable. The asphalt shingle roofing system must meet UL fire resistance and wind resistance ratings and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local building codes and OSHA guidelines. Work must be completed within 45 days of award. The contractor must provide a one-year warranty on workmanship and is responsible for any property damage caused during the project. Work hours are restricted to 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The cost proposal requires two separate price sets: one for roof tear-off and installation and one for per-piece pricing on fascia, aluminum wrapping, and plywood decking if replacements become necessary during execution. The primary point of contact is Ryan Place at 845-763-2959.
