About this opportunity
West Travis County Public Utility Agency (WTCPUA) is requesting quotes for a replacement 200 horsepower vertical turbine pump motor for the Uplands Water Treatment Plant in Austin, Texas, under RFQ due September 2, 2026 at 12:00 PM, with public bid opening at 1:30 PM the same day.
The scope is furnishing, delivering, and installing a single replacement motor compatible with the existing Flowserve Model 25ENL-1 vertical turbine pump. Required specifications are TECO-Westinghouse motor or approved equal; 447VP frame; TEFC enclosure; 460V/3-phase/60Hz operation; 1200 RPM synchronous speed; minimum 94.5% efficiency; counter-clockwise rotation; and non-reverse ratchet. Vendors must provide field service support for installation and start-up, comprehensive documentation, and coordinate scheduling with WTCPUA Operations. Quoted costs must be itemized separately for motor and pump delivery, freight and handling, field service for installation and commissioning, and any uninstallation charges. The quote must include total price, payment terms, lead time, earliest available field service date, warranty terms, and any proposed substitutions or deviations.
Warranty coverage is 12 months from start-up, not to exceed 18 months from delivery, covering defects in materials, workmanship, design, and operational failure. Vendors must demonstrate prior experience supplying motors for vertical turbine pumps in municipal water or wastewater utility applications. A site visit is strongly recommended prior to quote submission to verify field conditions, delivery constraints, and equipment compatibility. Sealed bid packages are submitted to Leonel Cruz, Operations Manager, at 13215 Bee Cave Parkway, Building B, Suite 110, Bee Cave, Texas 78738.
