About this opportunity
The County of San Diego Department of Public Works is requesting quotes for as-needed traffic and street name signs under RFQ 13380, with quotes due October 15, 2026, and questions due October 1, 2026. This procurement is reserved exclusively for Small-Local Businesses as defined in Board Policy B-53; all offerors must complete and submit a Small-Local Business Self-Certification Form to be considered for award.
The scope covers traffic signs, street name signs, supplemental plaques, delineators, object markers, and custom sign panels for County-maintained roadways. All materials and fabrication must conform to the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD), Caltrans Standard Specifications, and County requirements, with minimum Type IV retroreflective sheeting unless higher standards are required. The County anticipates awarding one or more contracts and reserves the right to order more, less, or none of any listed item based on operational needs and available funding.
The contract includes an initial base period of one year with two optional one-year renewal periods. Pricing is submitted through a Payment Schedule in Excel format available on BuyNet, the County's official procurement platform, with unit prices applying to authorized items and custom sign pricing based on approved Exhibit C line items. Delivery locations include County Division 1 Headquarters in Spring Valley, Division 2 Headquarters in San Marcos, and Station 39 in Ramona.
The County will evaluate quotes based on technical merit, experience, capacity, compliance history, availability, price, and overall value. Successful contractors must provide quality control, artwork review procedures, rush order capabilities when authorized, and maintain detailed transaction records. All submissions must be made through BuyNet.
