About this opportunity
Troy School District Board of Education is soliciting sealed bids for Bid Package 4A of the Athens High School Addition in Troy, Michigan, with bids due November 4, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. Addendum #8 sets this date in place of the October 16, 2026 deadline in the original advertisement. Bids are submitted electronically through BuildingConnected and publicly opened at 2:00 p.m. that day at 1140 Rankin Street, Troy, Michigan 48083, with virtual attendance via Microsoft Teams Live Event.
Each bid must include a 5% bid bond or certified check, a sworn and notarized criminal background affidavit, a sworn and notarized disclosure of any familial relationships between the bidder or its employees and Board of Education members or the Superintendent, and a sworn and notarized Iran Disclosure Statement. The Board reserves the right to award to other than the low bidder and to waive irregularities.
The bid package covers all labor, materials, equipment, and services for the addition, including carpentry, waterproofing, overhead door, acoustic wall panels, and electrical work. Technology scope includes wireless access points, public address speakers, soundfield amplifiers, wall phones, video surveillance cameras, and digital clocks across Zones J, K, and L on three floors. Structured cabling follows an end-to-end Hubbell/Belden solution with a Mission Critical 25-year system warranty, and the contractor provides penetrations, firestopping, and faceplates. Addendum #4 addresses treatment of an $80,000 Network Cabling/Security/Audio Visual allowance. Addendum #8 removes lighted baffle fixture AB-LED-1 from the acoustic wall panel scope, substitutes Armstrong Lyra for Calla 48"x48" ceiling tiles, and revises electrical sheets E5.2 and E7.5, which carry a luminaire schedule specifying fixture types, manufacturers, wattage, voltage, and controls.
Bidders must acknowledge Addenda #1, #3, #4, #6, #7, and #8 in their proposals. Inquiries route to Ethan Heckman at Barton Malow, (313) 815-2038, Ethan.Heckman@bartonmalow.com.
