About this opportunity

The Commonwealth of Virginia, through George Mason University (Mason), is soliciting proposals for a Step 2 RFP for SWaM General Construction Services. This contract will establish term contracts with multiple Class A licensed general contractors to provide general construction services, alterations, modifications, and repairs on an "as-needed" basis for all Mason campuses. The contracts will allow Mason to issue project orders ranging from less than $1,000 to no greater than $1,000,000, with no single project order exceeding $1,000,000 including change orders. Contractors must hold a Virginia Class A license and may need to obtain a Commercial Building Contractor (CBC) or Commercial Improvement Contractor (CIC) specialty to serve as the prime contractor. Proposals are due electronically by 2:00 PM on April 22, 2024, with questions due by April 5, 2024 and responses provided by April 12, 2024. Proposals will be evaluated based on contractor capabilities, qualifications, methodology, workload, and relevant experience.

This RFP has a 50% SWaM participation goal for fiscal year 2024. The contracts will be for an initial one-year term, with Mason having the option to renew for up to four additional one-year terms. No incumbent contractors or budget ranges are provided in the available information. The procurement will be conducted through Mason's Construction Management Software Program, e-Builder, and contractors must be registered in eVA, the Commonwealth of Virginia's e-procurement system.
