About this opportunity

Jackson County Schools is procuring scoreboard replacement services through a competitive sealed bid process for two high school facilities: East Jackson High School (1435 Hoods Mill Road, Commerce, GA 30529) and Jackson County High School (152 Jaxco Junction, Hoschton, GA 30548). General contractors are invited to submit sealed proposals to the Jackson County Board of Education office at 1660 Winder Highway, Jefferson, GA 30549 by 2:00 P.M. on January 27, 2026, with a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting scheduled for January 8, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at Jackson County High School. Proposals must include a completed competitive sealed proposal form, signed bid form, bid bond (equal to five percent of the base bid), a contractor affidavit demonstrating compliance with Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act (O.C.G.A. 13-10-91), and affidavits verifying lawful presence in the United States through the SAVE program. Upon contract award, contractors must provide performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract sum prior to construction commencement, with all bonds issued by a surety licensed in Georgia and listed on the Federal Register. Proposal documents are available for examination at Southern A & E's office (7951 Troon Circle, Austell, Georgia 30168) or online through their plan service by contacting 770-819-7777; no deposits are required and no refunds will be made. Competitive sealed proposals will be evaluated and scored by a review committee, with results communicated in writing to all proposers. Addendum #2, issued January 22, 2026, notes that should the Jackson County School System be closed on January 27, 2026 due to inclement weather, the submission deadline shall be extended to 2:00 P.M. on the day the school system reopens, and no proposals may be withdrawn for thirty days after submission.

The procurement documents do not identify specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or restrictions limiting proposal eligibility to particular organization types beyond the requirement that contractors demonstrate compliance with Georgia's security and immigration laws and verification of lawful presence in the United States. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are listed in the procurement materials. The documents do not specify an award value or budget range for the scoreboard replacement projects. Inquiries regarding the opportunity should be directed to David Farmer, Director of Facilities and Planning for Jackson County Schools. The owner reserves the right to waive technicalities and irregularities and to reject any or all proposals.
