About this opportunity
The Town of Lincoln, Vermont, located in Addison County, is soliciting bids through a Request for Proposal for hauling aggregate services to support its Highway Department operations. The procurement seeks qualified contractors to haul gravel and aggregates on an as-needed basis from one of five designated suppliers—Hinesburg Sand and Gravel, Pike Industries, North Middlebury Sand and Gravel, Shelburne Limestone, or A.R. Rathbun—and deliver materials to the highway department's stockpile at 281 South Lincoln Road, Lincoln, Vermont 05443. Hauling and delivery operations must be coordinated with the Lincoln Highway Department Supervisor and conducted exclusively Monday through Thursday, with no weekend or holiday hauling permitted except in emergency situations. Contractors are responsible for cleanup of any fluids that may leak or spill from their trucks during operations and must collect loading slips from pit operators documenting the volume of gravel loaded on each truck, with slips delivered weekly to the Highway Department Supervisor. Contractors may submit billing statements for hauling and delivery services no more frequently than weekly and no less frequently than monthly, with delivery dates and quantities that must be verifiable against vendor-provided daily slips, and the Town will process approved statements and issue payment within two weeks of submission. The proposal was posted on March 23, 2026, with a bid submission deadline of April 17, 2026. Failure to deliver gravel on an as-needed basis or by an agreed-upon amended due date may result in the contractor's declaration as ineligible for future Town of Lincoln contract work.
The RFP does not specify set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions on the types of organizations eligible to respond. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the procurement documents. The solicitation does not provide an estimated award value or budget range for the contract. Interested contractors should ensure they possess appropriate transportation equipment, liability insurance, and the operational capacity to meet the Town's as-needed hauling schedule while maintaining coordination with the Highway Department Supervisor and adhering to the Monday through Thursday operational window.
