About this opportunity
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking a contractor to provide statewide early intervention injury management and navigation services for injured CAL FIRE employees. The contractor will be responsible for assisting injured individuals in scheduling appointments, coordinating with medical providers and insurance companies, and serving as a single point of contact throughout the process. The contractor must have at least five years of experience providing similar services to fire service personnel and other first responders, and be able to provide 24/7/365 statewide coverage with a live representative. CAL FIRE anticipates approximately 2,000 requests for these services per year. The initial contract term is for two years, with an option for CAL FIRE to extend for a third year. Proposals will be evaluated based on technical factors such as project management, personnel qualifications, work plan, and facilities, as well as the proposed cost, which cannot exceed $1,800,000 for the initial two-year term.
CAL FIRE will consider bids from small businesses, disabled veteran business enterprises, and other entities covered by state and federal preference programs. The contractor must comply with various state laws and regulations, including organic waste recycling requirements. CAL FIRE has not provided information about any incumbent vendors or current contractors. The funding source for this contract is not specified in the RFP documents.
