About this opportunity
Walled Lake Consolidated School District is requesting sealed bids for demolition and installation of new monument signage under RFP 26-1008, with the proposal deadline extended to October 15, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for September 30, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Western High School, 600 Beck Road, Commerce Township, Michigan.
The scope includes complete removal of existing monument signage and installation of new signage as part of the district's 2024 Bond Projects initiative. TMP Architecture of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan prepared the plans and specifications. Bidding documents are available for review at George W. Auch Company (Construction Manager) at 65 University Drive, Pontiac, Michigan beginning September 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., and through PreconSuite.
Proposals must be submitted in duplicate and sealed in opaque envelopes marked with bidder name and project name, delivered to the Walled Lake Educational Service Center at 850 Ladd Road, Building D, Walled Lake, Michigan 48390, or electronically through PreconSuite. The public bid opening will occur at the same location on October 15, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EDT, with bids read aloud and simultaneously broadcast via Microsoft Teams.
All proposals must remain firm for 60 days. Bids exceeding $31,321 require either a bid bond from a Treasury-listed surety or a cashier's check equal to at least 5% of the proposal amount. Successful bidders with proposals of $50,000 or more must furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the bid, with bond costs included in the proposal. All bids require sworn and notarized statements disclosing familial relationships with school board members or superintendent, affidavits of Iran Economic Sanctions Act compliance, criminal background checks, and prevailing wage registration documentation. Proposals lacking these statements will not be accepted. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and award based on its determination of best interest rather than lowest price. Technical assistance is available through Liliana Spencer at George W. Auch Company, 248-334-2000.
