About this opportunity
Chatham County is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) 25-0104-2 for a Fire Station Alerting (FSA) system to be integrated with the Enterprise Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) platform. The procurement involves multiple fire departments, including Bloomingdale, Chatham County, Garden City, Isle of Hope, Pooler, Port Wentworth, Savannah, and Thunderbolt Fire Departments. The primary objective is to enhance emergency response capabilities by reducing turnout and response times, delivering multi-sensory alerts, supporting NFPA compliance, and improving communication clarity. The RFI seeks comprehensive vendor information across nine key areas: system integration, audio/visual alerting, automated voice features, network redundancy, mobile and remote access, system configuration, reporting capabilities, testing and warranty provisions, and pricing models. Responses are due by 5:00 P.M. on August 29, 2025, and must be submitted through the Chatham County procurement portal, Bonfire, with no page limitations. The system is expected to support a phased implementation across multiple fire departments with mixed hardware environments and multi-agency coordination.
This RFI is explicitly an information-gathering exercise and does not obligate Chatham County to any procurement or contractual action. There are no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on responding organizations mentioned in the documentation. The project is part of the Public Safety Improvement Program (PSIP) and aims to potentially add an FSA system as an enhancement to existing infrastructure. While no specific budget range is provided, the RFI indicates that vendors should include detailed pricing models in their responses. The system is expected to integrate with existing technology and support a comprehensive approach to improving firefighter safety and emergency response efficiency. Importantly, responding to this RFI does not require participation in any future Request for Proposal (RFP), and Chatham County reserves the right to modify or withdraw the request at any time.

**This Request for Information (RFI) is for information-gathering only and does not obligate Chatham County to any procurement or contractual action. Responses are not required to bid on any future RFP. Chatham County reserves the right to modify or withdraw this request at any time.** The Chatham County 911 Recommendation Review Committee, in conjunction with the Project Management Office (PMO), in sponsorship with the Pooler Fire Department (PLFD), is interested in more information regarding Fire Station Alerting (FSA) for integration into the Enterprise Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD). This RFI will help shape a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) by identifying technical capabilities, integration approaches, compliance standards, and deployment models for a next-generation FSA system designed to enhance emergency response to reduce fatigue, stress, and improve firefighter safety if requested as an add-on to the Public Safety Improvement Program (PSIP).
