About this opportunity

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking bids for a Routine Facilities Contract (RFC) for the construction of three fabric salt sheds in the Paris District, located in Greenville and Mt. Vernon, Texas. The projects, identified as RFC 011859-24-02 and 011859-24-03, have an estimated total cost of $380,000, with $260,000 for the Greenville site and $120,000 for the Mt. Vernon site. The contract requires the construction of two 30'x60' fabric salt storage sheds, each with a concrete slab and 8-foot walls, at the specified maintenance facility locations. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 2, 2024, with site visits at 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM CT the same day, and bids are due on May 8, 2024, by 1:00 PM CT at the TxDOT State Headquarters in Austin. Bidders must submit a complete proposal package, including a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Subcontracting Plan if the bid is $100,000 or greater, and provide a $5,000 bid bond or guaranty check.

The contract will not be awarded to any contractor, firm, or subcontractor currently debarred from bidding on TxDOT projects. TxDOT reserves the right to reject any and all proposals. If the project estimate and/or contractor's estimate is $100,000 or greater, the use of HUBs is mandated, and a HUB Subcontracting Plan must be submitted with the proposal package. The applicable State Laws prohibiting discriminatory practices in bidding and awarding this work will be strictly adhered to. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder, subject to the bidder's ability to meet bonding and insurance requirements.
