About this opportunity

The City of Yonkers, located in Westchester County, New York, is seeking a vendor through Request for Bid (RFB-7440A) to provide comprehensive parts and service for its Kia vehicle fleet over a twenty-four-month contract period, with an option to renew for an additional twelve months. The procurement targets the Department of Public Works Service Center and requires a vendor capable of supplying Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts and performing repairs for approximately 12-25 Kia vehicles, with potential for fleet expansion. The successful vendor must demonstrate the ability to repair engines and vehicle components without voiding manufacturer warranties, and provide high-quality service including certified mechanic repairs, pickup and delivery services, and repair completion within three business days. Pricing will be evaluated based on a discount percentage off the KIA Master Price List for parts (estimated at $75,000) and an hourly labor rate for approximately 200 work hours during the contract term. Key deadlines include July 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM EST for written questions and July 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM for bid submission, with the contract requiring detailed invoicing and a minimum warranty coverage of one year or 12,000 miles.

The bid documents do not specify explicit set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. The current fleet consists of 11 vehicles from the 2025 model year, including 3 Niro EV models, 7 Niro EX PHEV models, and 1 Sorento SUV assigned to Public Works and Police Administration departments. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the procurement requires integration with existing Kia vehicle infrastructure and adherence to manufacturer specifications. The estimated total contract value appears to be approximately $75,000 for parts, with additional costs for labor estimated at 200 hours over the contract term. The City of Yonkers seeks a vendor with comprehensive technical capabilities, strong parts sourcing networks, and the ability to maintain the operational readiness of its municipal Kia vehicle fleet through reliable, warranty-compliant service and repair solutions.
