About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) has issued an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for a comprehensive food products and delivery services contract. The ITB seeks a qualified vendor to provide a wide range of food items, including dairy, baked goods, produce, canned goods, condiments, and beverages, to all 21 DJJ detention facilities across the state. The selected vendor must have the capability to deliver palletized orders to these facilities, many of which lack loading docks and forklifts. The contract term is for three years, with an option to extend for an additional three years, and is expected to begin on October 1, 2024. Bids are due by September 6, 2024, and the notice of intended award is anticipated on or around September 16, 2024. Bidders must provide unit pricing for each food item as well as a fixed delivery fee per case. DJJ does not have historical usage data or weekly/monthly order volumes to provide, but estimates an annual contract value of $1,971,007.15.

The ITB is open to all qualified vendors, including those registered in the MyFlorida Marketplace system and those able to comply with federal procurement guidelines through group purchasing organizations. The contract may be awarded on a regional or all-or-none basis, and cooperative purchasing by other governmental entities may be allowed. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, and the incumbent supplier is the Department of Corrections Cooperative Purchasing. The Department reserves the right to obtain quotes and purchase items not included on the price sheet from vendors not awarded the contract.
