About this opportunity

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Division of Purchases, on behalf of the Division of Maintenance, is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB) to award a master agreement contract for retrofitting snow and ice removal trucks for Carroll County. The contract will cover the retrofit of 2 tandem trucks with 12' plows, including the installation of snow plows, hopper spreaders, liquid chloride dispensing units, and communication systems. The contract term will be effective upon award and expire on April 15, 2030 for trucks model year 2014 and newer, or April 15, 2026 for trucks model year 2013 and older. Bidders must provide proof of ownership or possession for each truck, as well as properly licensed, insured, and trained drivers. The RFB specifies that bids in excess of $200 per hour for salting and plowing operations, $25,000 for trucks model year 2013 and older, or $40,000 for trucks model year 2014 and newer may be considered excessive and may not be accepted. The Commonwealth reserves the right to award fewer than the requested number of trucks to stay within budgeted amounts.

The RFB does not mention any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The incumbent vendor is not specified. The total budget or award value for this contract opportunity is also not provided, but the RFB indicates the Commonwealth will stay within its budgeted amounts when awarding the contract.
