About this opportunity

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is seeking competitive bids for the restoration of ephemeral wetland habitat on the Escribano Point Wildlife Management Area (WMA) in Santa Rosa County, Florida. The project involves the removal of midstory and overstory vegetation from selected seasonally dry ponds and ecotones using a floating excavator. The initial project covers approximately 25 acres, with the total eligible acreage being 4,000 acres, and the annual acreage to be determined based on need and budget. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit will be held on August 23, 2024, and sealed bids are due by September 11, 2024. The contract will be effective for one year from the issuance of the Purchase Order, with options to renew for up to three additional one-year terms. The bid will be awarded to the responsive, responsible bidder that submits the lowest total price, including pricing for the initial term and all renewal years.

Certified minority-owned, woman-owned, and service-disabled veteran business enterprises are encouraged to participate. The Commission will provide the successful bidder with maps and coordinates for the treatment areas, and the contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment and experienced labor to complete the project. Bidders must be registered in the MyFloridaMarketPlace system and with Sunbiz prior to the bid opening. The total budget for this project is not specified, but the contract will be awarded based on the lowest total bid price.
