About this opportunity

The State of Maine is requesting quotations for respirator supplies and equipment under RFQ, with quotes due August 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. local time.

The scope encompasses a comprehensive listing of respiratory protective equipment items—various respirator types, cartridges, filters, and related protective equipment—with specific product specifications and quantities detailed in the attached spreadsheet. Bidders may submit separate unit prices for individual line items. All pricing must be submitted on a net F.O.B. destination basis with transportation, freight, and delivery charges fully prepaid and included in quoted prices. Cash discounts for payments made 20 days or more from delivery will be evaluated; discounts less than 20 days will not be considered.

Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering the best value, considering quality, conformity to specifications, delivery dates, and overall cost. In case of tie bids, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. The contract term is one year. The State reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, waive formalities or technicalities, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. Winning bidders may be required to provide item samples and certificates of conformance. The State Purchasing Director may extend the contract beyond the initial one-year term with contractor consent and may cancel with thirty days' written notice.

Electronic submission is required. All questions must be submitted through the designated Question and Answer link on the Solicitation Details View page; questions through alternative channels will not be recognized as official correspondence. Bidders are responsible for regularly monitoring the portal for posted questions and answers. Vendors must complete a debarment certification under Executive Order 12549 and 29 CFR Part 98 attesting they are not debarred, suspended, or ineligible for covered transactions. Contractors must provide material safety data sheets for any hazardous chemicals as required by Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes; quotes should exclude these taxes.
