About this opportunity
The State of California, through the California Air Resources Board (CARB), Sustainable Transportation and Communities Division, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the development of a Building Embodied Carbon Reporting Tool (BECRT). The primary objective of the BECRT is to establish a comprehensive system for tracking and reporting the embodied carbon in building materials and construction processes, aligning with the goals outlined in Assembly Bill 43. The RFI seeks information from vendors on available off-the-shelf or custom-built reporting/recordkeeping tools that can meet the project's requirements, which include user registration, data submission and reporting, calculation and fee collection, data visualization and reporting, and system governance. The RFI is intended to assist CARB in determining the feasibility and requirements for a future solicitation, identifying a suitable technology, approximate costs and effort, vendor tasks, and the duration needed to acquire or build the reporting tool.
The RFI does not constitute a solicitation, and a contract will not be awarded based on the responses. Respondents will not be compensated for their submissions, and the information provided may be subject to public disclosure under the California Public Records Act. CARB may hold confidential discussions with vendors after receiving the RFI responses to further assess their capabilities and solutions. The RFI does not specify any set-aside designations, restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond, or any listed incumbent vendors or current contractors. The RFI also does not provide any information on possible award values or budget ranges.
Opportunity text
This RFI requests information from the vendor community to assist the State in determining if there are any off-the-shelf reporting/recordkeeping tools or custom build of a reporting and recordkeeping tool based on the objectives and requirements described herein, to identify a technology, approximate the funds (a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost and effort estimate), anticipated vendor tasks, and the duration that may be needed to acquire or build the reporting and recordkeeping tool.
