About this opportunity
The City of Goodland, located in Sheridan County, Kansas, is soliciting sealed bids for the procurement of one (1) new, unused Zero Turn Riding Mower to be utilized by the Parks, Sewer & Street Departments. The procurement requires a current model mower with specific technical specifications, including a liquid-cooled diesel engine (37 HP), 72-inch side-discharge deck, hydrostatic drive, and twin lever zero-turn steering. Bidders must submit comprehensive proposals including a brochure and warranty information, with all equipment parts being new and unused. The bid submission deadline is Wednesday, March 27, 2024, by 11:00 a.m. MST, with bid opening and review occurring simultaneously in the City Manager's office. Bid award is scheduled for Monday, April 1, 2024, during the regularly scheduled Commission Meeting, with payment to be processed in a lump sum after delivery, equipment compliance verification, and approval from the City Manager and City Commission. The City reserves the right to waive minor technicalities, accept or reject any bids, and adjust bid specifications based on cost considerations. Potential bidders with questions are instructed to contact the Director of Parks & Recreation at 785-890-4539 or the City Manager during regular business hours.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were mentioned in the procurement documents. The bid appears open to standard commercial vendors capable of meeting the detailed mower specifications. While no incumbent vendors were identified, the procurement documents indicate the City is seeking a replacement or additional zero-turn riding mower for municipal operations. The bid documents do not specify a precise budget range, but note that the City reserves the right to adjust specifications if bids come in above or below anticipated costs. Payment will be contingent upon successful delivery and compliance with all specified bid requirements. Bidders are encouraged to submit proposals even if they do not precisely meet all specifications, with an option to list any deviations from the stated requirements. The procurement is structured to allow competitive bidding while maintaining flexibility for the City of Goodland to select the most appropriate equipment for its municipal needs.
