About this opportunity
Glascock County and the City of Cairo are seeking engineering firms to provide comprehensive services for the Rural Workforce Housing Initiative (RWFHI) program through a Request for Proposals (RFP) for engineering services. The procurement specifically targets consulting firms with demonstrated expertise in assisting local governments with community and housing development projects, with an immediate focus on public infrastructure improvements for a 2025 RWFHI Project. Qualified firms must be technically licensed in the State of Georgia and prepared to offer construction engineering and oversight services. The RFP requires interested parties to request and complete a Statement of Qualifications Form and Section 3 Certification Form prior to proposal submission. Proposals must be received by Dana Barfield at the City of Cairo (119 North Broad Street, Cairo, GA 39828) no later than 5:00 pm on March 17th, 2025, with the contracting authority reserving the right to accept or reject any proposals and waive informalities in the proposal process. The contract is expected to be awarded within one year of the notice, with potential opportunities for future state and federally funded projects over the next 2-3 years.
While specific set-aside designations are not explicitly detailed in the provided documentation, the requirement for a Section 3 Certification Form suggests potential considerations for disadvantaged or local business enterprises. The RFP indicates that all submitted firms will be reconsidered on a project-by-project basis for future opportunities, which implies an open and competitive selection process. No incumbent vendors or specific budget ranges are specified in the current documentation. Interested firms can obtain additional information by contacting Dana Barfield via phone at (229) 377-1722, Extension 113, or email at dbarfield@cairocity.net. The attached government files, including "CAIRO_CG_SPh.pdf", "section 3 bid package.pdf", and "Cairo Bid.docx", likely contain additional details about the project specifications, submission requirements, and evaluation criteria that prospective engineering firms should carefully review before preparing their proposals.
