About this opportunity
Chatham County, Georgia is requesting sealed bids for replacement of air compression equipment at the Chatham County Detention Center under ITB issued January 25, 2022, with bids due February 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. and a mandatory pre-bid conference on February 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the detention center (1050 Carl Griffin Drive, Savannah). M/WBE participation goals of 12 percent for minority-owned businesses and 5 percent for women-owned businesses apply; bidders must demonstrate good faith efforts to achieve these goals or risk non-responsive determination.
The scope is replacement of two piston-style air compressors with two rotary screw-style compressors (basis of bid: Kaeser Airtower SC2), including installation of inline air dryers, condensate drain kits, compressed air filters, blocking valves, adjustable regulators, electronic switching controls with manual override, full electrical hookup, system startup, and operator and maintenance training. All work must be performed within the secured detention center during Monday through Friday operating hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with equipment ordered and documented within 10 days of Notice to Proceed. The contract is structured as a one-time purchase with delivery and completion timeframes to be specified by the winning bidder.
Bidders must submit an original and duplicate sealed bid with a 5 percent bid bond. A performance bond will be required upon award. Vendors must provide minimum three references related to the specifications proposed and manufacturer data sheets for all items. Contractors must carry commercial general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence and statutory-limit worker's compensation insurance. Standard warranty, drug-free workplace certification, E-Verify compliance, current Georgia business tax certificate, and non-discrimination statements are required. Payment will be made within thirty days of receipt of an acceptable invoice upon satisfactory completion.
