About this opportunity

The State University of New York (SUNY) at Oneonta is seeking sealed bids for project number M09613, which involves replacing the air conditioning system in Schumacher Hall. The procurement is for a comprehensive HVAC replacement project, with all work to be completed by August 1, 2024. Interested bidders must purchase contract documents from Dataflow for $80.00 and submit duplicate bids by September 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Facilities Planning Annex. A mandatory project walk-through is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., with participants meeting at the construction trailer at 322 West Street, Oneonta. Bidders must provide a bid security of at least five percent of the total bid amount. All questions and clarification requests must be submitted to Cindy Lehr and Dan Harter by September 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Potential bidders can review bidding documents at various locations, including Dodge Construction, Construction Market Data, and Builders Exchange of the Southern Tier.

The state encourages minority business enterprise participation in this project, with expectations that contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers will cooperate in implementation. While specific set-aside percentages are not detailed, there is a clear policy promoting diversity in vendor selection. The project is located in New York state, specifically involving Orleans County, though the actual work site is in Oneonta. No incumbent vendor information is provided in the contract opportunity description. Bidders will need to demonstrate technical capability to replace the air conditioning system in Schumacher Hall, though specific qualifications are not explicitly outlined. The bid documents can be obtained from Dataflow for $80.00, suggesting some upfront investment is required for potential contractors. While no specific budget range is mentioned, the requirement for a bid security indicates the project likely has significant monetary value.
