About this opportunity
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Procurement and Contracting Services is requesting bids for repair and parts services for a sheet ironer at Richmond State Supported Living Center, with responses due August 7, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. and a questions deadline of July 29, 2026.
The scope covers preventive maintenance, major repairs, parts replacement, and parts supply for an American Sylon Model 128-M31044 sheet ironer. The contractor must respond to service calls within 24 hours during regular business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time) and to emergency requests within one hour. Pricing is submitted as firm, fixed rates on the Exhibit C Pricing Sheet, broken into regular business hours and outside-hours categories. Twenty line items on the supplemental pricing sheet specify unit costs for components including fabric covers, pads, belts of varying widths, grip tape, apron material, mechanical upgrade service calls, a complete steam and condensate system for an 8-roll Super Sylon ironer, brass roll box assemblies, sprockets, chains, and pressure bar assemblies.
The historical annual spending is $85,000. The initial contract term runs September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2027, with one optional one-year extension available at HHSC's discretion. Contractors may request annual price adjustments using the Consumer Price Index formula or Federal Minimum Wage adjustments, subject to approval.
Minimum qualifications include four years of relevant experience, three verifiable references, and comprehensive insurance coverage—workers' compensation, commercial general liability of $1,000,000 per occurrence, commercial automobile liability, professional liability, and umbrella liability of $1,000,000. Background check compliance is required. No volume guarantee is provided. The contract is subject to appropriations and fund availability and may be terminated at agency discretion. Responses must include the Exhibit C Pricing Sheet, Exhibit D Bidder Reference Form, Exhibit A HHS Solicitation Affirmations, an Addendum Acknowledgement Form, and Form 4109 (Texas Identification Number application) if applicable. Bids may be submitted in-person at 1100 W. 49th Street, Austin, Texas, or electronically through the HHS Online Bid Room.
