About this opportunity

The City of Albuquerque (CABQ) is issuing a Request for Bid (RFB) for rental compactors through its Purchasing Division and Solid Waste Department's Commercial Collections Division. The procurement seeks up to six self-contained compactors in 20-cubic-yard, 30-cubic-yard, and 40-cubic-yard configurations, with optional features including multiple cycle timers, loading doors, safety interlocks, and 10HP power pack generators. Bidders must provide comprehensive services including 24-hour repair callouts covering 100% of parts and labor, welding repairs, cleaning and sanitization with pest and odor control, and annual painting services. The compactors will be installed at various locations throughout Albuquerque, with bidders responsible for setup, installation, and transportation between sites. The bid submission deadline is January 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Time, with all bids to be submitted electronically through the City's Bonfire e-procurement system. Bidders must submit questions at least ten business days prior to the bid deadline, and the contract term will be two years with options to renew for two additional one-year periods, not exceeding a total of four years.

The RFB requires bidders to submit a Pay Equity Reporting Form, with out-of-state contractors without New Mexico facilities or employees exempt from reporting but still required to submit the form indicating exempt status. The City reserves the right to award multiple agreements if deemed in the best interest of the City, and will analyze and evaluate bids for a minimum of 90 calendar days after the deadline. Evaluation criteria include responsiveness, responsibility, and total price, with the contract to be awarded to the lowest and most advantageous bidder. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, pricing will be submitted on a per-unit or hourly basis for compactor sizes, optional features, and service categories, including separate fees for delivery, installation, and cleaning. The primary contact for this procurement is Matthew Pierce, Senior Buyer, who can be reached at mpierce@cabq.gov or (505) 767-5710. No cost-plus-percentage contracts will be permitted, and the apparent lowest bidder will be posted by close of business on the submission deadline.
