About this opportunity

The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) in Sacramento County, California, is soliciting bids for Bid #810-25/26 to remove and replace stage curtains and related items across approximately 35 elementary and middle school sites. The comprehensive procurement involves procuring and installing new stage curtains, including 22oz Velour main stage curtains in various colors and 15oz Velour black backdrop curtains, with specific requirements for front stage drapes, valances, side legs, masking borders, and rear pair draperies. All curtains must meet California flameproof code standards and include 50% additional material for fullness and box pleating. Contractors must possess a valid C-61/D-52 California State Contractors License and attend a mandatory pre-bidders conference on November 18, 2025, at Samuel Kennedy Elementary School, which will include visits to up to six additional sites. Bids are due by December 1, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. PST, submitted electronically through the EGUSD Bonfire Procurement Portal, with an initial contract term from December 17, 2025, through December 16, 2026, and potential renewal options for up to four additional one-year terms.

The procurement does not explicitly indicate specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. Contractors must provide a payment bond for 100% of the total bid amount and ensure all labor is performed at prevailing wage rates. Bidders are required to submit comprehensive documentation, including a non-collusion declaration, company information, references, and a certification of valid criminal records summary to ensure employee safety when working in school environments. The district reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive irregularities, and be the sole judge of product and service suitability. While specific budget ranges are not detailed in the documents, the project involves curtain replacement at multiple school sites, suggesting a potentially significant contract value. Contractors must also provide documentation verifying that employees who may interact with students have valid criminal records summaries obtained through Department of Justice fingerprint processing.
