About this opportunity
This procurement is a remodel and renovation project issued by the Downriver Career Technical Consortium (DCTC) for the Trenton Athletic Club located at 1630 Fort Street, Trenton, Michigan in Wayne County. The project encompasses renovation work across sixteen divisions including demolition, concrete, masonry, structural steel, general trades, roofing, glass and glazing, flooring and tiling, painting, food service equipment, elevators, fire suppression, mechanical, electrical, site work, and fencing. Sealed electronic bids must be submitted via Building Connected no later than 11:00 AM local standard time on April 21, 2026, with a public bid opening held virtually via Microsoft Teams Live Event at the same time. An optional pre-bid conference and site visit will be held on March 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the project location for all trades. Contract documents will be available electronically beginning March 24, 2026, with interested bidders directed to contact Kim Hoffman at Barton Malow Builders (kim.hoffman@bartonmalow.com) to receive an invitation to review documents and submit bids. Bidders must be pre-qualified per specified requirements before document distribution and must submit sworn and notarized forms including a Familial Disclosure Form, Iran Economic Sanctions Act Form, and Affidavit of Compliance - Criminal Background Check Form. All bid proposals shall include 5% bid security from a qualified surety, Performance Bond, Payment Bond, Certificates of Insurance as required, and must account for state sales and use taxes. The project is subject to state prevailing wage rates and reporting requirements, and the successful bidder will enter into an AIA Document A132-2019 Standard Form of Agreement with DCTC.
Bidders with an Experience Modification Rate (EMR) greater than 1.0 are ineligible for contract award. Bid proposals cannot be withdrawn or revoked for 90 days after the receipt date. The contract documents are based on the project manual dated March 24, 2026, and construction drawings and specifications prepared by Fanning Howey dated March 13, 2026, with Barton Malow Builders serving as Construction Manager. The procurement documents do not specify set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond beyond the standard eligibility requirements and pre-qualification criteria. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the available procurement materials. No specific award value or budget range is listed in the bid advertisement; however, the scope of work spanning sixteen trade divisions suggests a substantial project cost. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids submitted.
