About this opportunity
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is soliciting responses from construction management firms to provide pre-construction, construction management, and construction services for the Reed Hall Roof Replacement and Major Maintenance Project at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia (Project No. OUA 14-020201). Responding firms must demonstrate successful experience in roof repairs and replacements, retro-commissioning activities, and construction delivery in densely populated campus environments while minimizing negative impacts on natural resources, existing structures, and campus operations. The Board of Regents will evaluate submissions, select qualified firms, request additional information regarding project team composition, conduct interviews, rank finalists, and initiate contract discussions with the selected firm. An addendum posted on February 14, 2014, extended the bid due date to February 21, 2014, with all responses required by 2:00 p.m. on that date. The project will employ separate commissioning/testing & balancing and roofing consultants, with a significant portion of the scope to be determined after construction commences in May.
The procurement opportunity does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions limiting eligible respondents to particular categories of organizations, nor are disadvantaged enterprise requirements mentioned. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the solicitation materials. The stated cost limitation for the project is approximately $950,000.00, establishing the budget range for contract award. The solicitation does not identify any existing infrastructure or technology that requires integration with the project deliverables. Interested firms should note that this is characterized as a non-traditional project due to the significant scope elements that will be determined during the construction phase rather than prior to project initiation.
