About this opportunity

The Georgetown Divide Public Utility District is seeking bids for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Angel Camp Water Storage Tank located in Cool, California. This Request for Bids (RFB) calls for a contractor to provide complete recoating services for a 500,000-gallon potable water storage tank, including removing existing interior coatings, making required repairs, and recoating multiple tank components such as the interior shell, rafters, floor, ladder, and miscellaneous steel. Key project requirements include preparing and painting the tank's exterior, replacing the roof vent with a clog-resistant approved vent, adding safety railing with a self-closing gate, and eliminating exposed wiring. Bidders must possess California C-33 and C-10 licenses and demonstrate experience by providing evidence of completing five similar projects within the last two years using plural component equipment and NSF-61 100% solids epoxy on potable water storage tank interiors. The bid solicitation includes a 10% bid security requirement, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible qualified bidder. Critical dates include a mandatory pre-bid conference on September 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with bid submissions due on October 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The project requires completion within 40 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed, with an expected completion date of March 27, 2026.

The procurement does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations, and prevailing wage rates will apply to the project. While the document does not specify an exact budget range, it indicates a comprehensive rehabilitation project that will require significant technical expertise and specialized coating capabilities. The solicitation suggests the project is funded through standard municipal infrastructure improvement channels, though specific funding sources are not detailed in the provided documentation. Contractors interested in bidding must demonstrate substantial experience in potable water tank rehabilitation, with a specific focus on interior coating techniques and safety infrastructure improvements. The project's scope indicates a substantial investment in maintaining critical water storage infrastructure for the El Dorado County region, with an emphasis on ensuring water quality, structural integrity, and operational safety of the Angel Camp Water Storage Tank.
