About this opportunity

Sacramento County is procuring a fall protection system recertification project for jet bridges at Sacramento International Airport through a competitive rebid process (Contract #40967-Rebid). The procurement involves removing and replacing existing rooftop fall restraint cables with new OSHA-approved cable systems across 15 jet bridges, specifically 13 in the TA area and 2 (B12 and B14) in the CB area. Contractors must furnish all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to complete the work, with strict adherence to manufacturer requirements and OSHA regulations. The project requires installing new identification tags for each system and working on the secure airport side with provided escort access. Bidders must possess a valid California contractor's license in classifications A, B, or D-64, C-51, and be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations. The bid submission deadline is October 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm through the Sacramento County Electronic Bidding Portal, with a pre-bid meeting held on October 10, 2023, at 9:00 am. The estimated construction cost is $83,000.00, and contractors must provide a bid guarantee of at least 10% of the total bid amount.

No specific set-aside designations or restrictions for disadvantaged enterprises were explicitly mentioned in the documentation. The contract will be awarded based on the base bid only, with no additional or deductive items considered. Bidders must submit comprehensive documentation including a non-collusion declaration, subcontractor designation, and company information. The project involves comprehensive replacement of existing fall protection infrastructure, requiring careful coordination with Airport Air Operations and specific jet bridge shutdown times. Insurance requirements are substantial, with minimum liability coverage of $5,000,000 for general aggregate and each occurrence, and $1,000,000 for personal and advertising injury. Ten percent of each progress payment will be retained until work is completed and field accepted. The contract specifies a total completion time of 16 calendar days, with the contractor responsible for maintaining and submitting record drawings and specifications within seven days of construction progress.
