About this opportunity
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB), located in St. Johns County, Florida, is procuring annual calibration services for Grason-Stadler audiology equipment currently in use on its campus through a single source procurement notice rather than a competitive solicitation. This is a statutorily mandated fifteen business day advertisement period for an intended single source contract under Florida Statutes 287.057(3), 120.57(3), and Florida Administrative Code Rule 60A-1.045, during which the agency will accept inquiries from vendors who believe they can fulfill the requirements. The primary deliverable is the provision of authorized 2026 service provider calibration services for the audiology equipment, with the key objective being to maintain equipment functionality and compliance through annual calibrations. Required qualifications include authorization as an authorized service provider for Grason-Stadler products and demonstrated capability to service audiology equipment. The advertisement period runs from April 16, 2026, through May 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM, and all inquiries or alternative capability claims must be submitted via email to Elizabeth Nimitz, Purchasing Analyst, at nimitze@fsdbk12.org. No formal bid conference, site visit, or other structured evaluation meetings are specified in the procurement notice.
The intended single source provider is e3 Diagnostics, Inc., located in Duluth, Georgia, which has been designated as the sole source distributor for Grason-Stadler products and the recommended authorized service provider for Alabama, Georgia, and Florida zip code regions beginning with 320, 322, 323, 324, and 325—all areas within which FSDB operates. While FSDB has determined this to qualify as a single source procurement due to e3 Diagnostics' exclusive authorization status, the agency reserves the right to conduct a competitive procurement should responses from other vendors during the fifteen business day advertising period demonstrate alternative capability to fulfill the requirements. No specific set-asides for disadvantaged enterprises or minority-owned business designations are noted in the procurement documentation. The contract is not-to-exceed $2,125.00, representing the estimated total annual cost for the calibration services. The final procurement decision rests solely within the discretion of FSDB's Director of Purchasing, Kim Whitwam, and approval has already been granted for this single source procurement determination.
