About this opportunity

The State of Illinois, through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), is re-bidding a contract for the purchase of a Compact Rubber Tracked Cone Penetration Test (CPT) Rig and accompanying trailer. The required equipment must meet detailed technical specifications, including a minimum 35hp engine, rubber tracks, hydraulic CPT push/pull capabilities, and a complete cone and data acquisition system. Bidders must provide descriptive literature and information on their proposed make, model, and accessories, as well as demonstrate their ability to provide prompt parts and service within Illinois. The successful bidder will be required to provide a full 12-month warranty and onsite operator training, and deliver the fully operational equipment within the quoted timeframe. The solicitation also includes a specification questionnaire for a 14,000 lb tilt-bed trailer to transport the CPT rig.

This procurement does not contain any small business, minority, women, or veteran set-aside goals. The contract will be awarded to an established manufacturer or authorized dealer, and the pricing will be provided on a per-item basis, with the State reserving the right to award by line item. The State may terminate the contract for convenience with 30 days' notice, and the total term of the contract shall not exceed ten (10) years. While no incumbent vendor or current contract value is provided, the re-bid nature of this opportunity suggests there may be an existing provider for this equipment.
