About this opportunity

West Travis County Public Utility Agency (WTCPUA) is requesting quotes for procurement and installation of a replacement vertical turbine raw water pump assembly and motor for Raw Water Pump #2 at the Uplands Raw Water Intake facility in Austin, Texas, with quotes due September 2, 2026 at 12:00 PM and public bid opening at 1:30 PM the same day.

The scope includes one vertical turbine raw water pump (Flowserve 16ENH 7-stage bowl assembly or approved equal), a 700 HP Nidec VSS motor operating at 1,770 RPM and 2,300 volts three-phase, cast iron bowls with stainless steel shafting, aluminum bronze impellers, sensor equipment, appurtenances, coatings, and delivery. Optional field services include pump removal, installation, and start-up support. The pump is rated for 4,200 GPM at 542 feet total dynamic head. Coating requirements specify grit blasting to SSPC SP-5 white metal standard with TNEMEC N140 potable epoxy applied to 7–9 mil dry film thickness. The RFQ excludes suction or discharge piping beyond the pumping unit, controls, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, valves, electrical wiring, concrete, grout, anchor bolts, and field painting.

Vendors must demonstrate experience supplying vertical turbine pumps for municipal raw water, drinking water, or wastewater utility applications. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months from start-up, not to exceed 36 months from delivery.

Quotes must be itemized, separating costs for pump assembly and motor, blasting and coating services, freight and delivery, field installation services, start-up monitoring, and any additional charges. Vendors must state total price, payment terms, equipment lead time, and warranty information. A site visit is strongly recommended prior to quote submission to verify site conditions, pump compatibility, and installation requirements. All delivery, installation, and commissioning activities must be coordinated with WTCPUA Operations to minimize operational impacts on raw water pumping reliability.
