About this file
This Request for Quotes (RFQ) is issued by the West Travis County Public Utility Agency (WTCPUA) for the procurement and installation of a replacement vertical turbine raw water pump assembly and motor for Raw Water Pump #2 at the Uplands Raw Water Intake facility in Austin, Texas. The project requires vendors to furnish one (1) vertical turbine raw water pump, motor, appurtenances, coatings, and delivery, with optional field services including pump removal, installation, and start-up support. The specified equipment configuration includes a Flowserve 16ENH 7-stage bowl assembly (or approved equal) rated for 4,200 GPM at 542 feet TDH, a 700 HP Nidec VSS motor operating at 1,770 RPM and 2,300 volts, 3-phase, along with specified components such as cast iron bowls with stainless steel shafting, aluminum bronze impellers, and sensor equipment. Quotes were due on September 2, 2026, by 12:00 PM with public bid opening scheduled for the same date at 1:30 PM. A site visit is strongly recommended prior to quote submission to verify site conditions, pump compatibility, and installation requirements. The contract terms include a warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship for 24 months from start-up, not to exceed 36 months from delivery.
Vendors must submit itemized quotes separating costs for the pump assembly and motor, blasting and coating services, freight and delivery, field installation services, start-up monitoring, and any additional charges or allowances. Quotes shall clearly state total price, payment terms, lead time for equipment delivery, and warranty information. Coating requirements specify grit blasting to SSPC SP-5 white metal standard with TNEMEC N140 potable epoxy applied to 7-9 mil dry film thickness. The RFQ does not include pricing for suction or discharge piping beyond the pumping unit, controls, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, valves, electrical wiring, concrete, grout, anchor bolts, or field painting. Vendors must demonstrate experience supplying vertical turbine pumps for municipal raw water, drinking water, or wastewater utility applications and must coordinate all delivery, installation, and commissioning activities with WTCPUA Operations to minimize operational impacts on raw water pumping reliability.
