About this opportunity
The Screven County School System is seeking proposals for a comprehensive radio system upgrade through a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued on May 19, 2025. The procurement involves replacing the existing Motorola Connect Plus radio system with a Motorola Capacity Plus or equivalent system for the county-wide school district. Key project deliverables include removing old equipment, installing new equipment, licensing new frequencies under the Board of Education, programming 88 portable and mobile radios, and ensuring county-wide coverage. Proposers must demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience in the field and provide evidence of successfully completing at least five similar or larger projects. Evaluation criteria will include proposal completeness, qualifications, ability to complete work within the specified timeframe, references, insurance coverage, and e-verify compliance. The proposal submission deadline is June 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM local time, with sealed proposals to be delivered to 611 Pine Street, Sylvania, GA 30467. Site visits are available by appointment only, and proposers are required to submit three references, copies of liability and workers' compensation insurance, and a Contractor Affidavit.
While no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondents are explicitly mentioned, the RFP requires proposers to integrate the new radio system with the County's 911 center and other county agencies' P-25 system. The current infrastructure involves a Motorola Connect Plus radio system that will be completely replaced. No incumbent vendor is specifically identified, and no precise budget range or award value is provided in the documentation. Proposals may not be withdrawn for 45 days after receipt, and the school system reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and waive technicalities. The contract will be awarded on a stipulated sum basis, considering factors beyond the lowest price, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a comprehensive and effective radio communication system for the Screven County School System that meets the district's operational requirements.
