About this opportunity
Pentucket Regional School District (Massachusetts) is requesting bids for design and installation of a grid-connected photovoltaic system at Pentucket Middle High School, 24 Main Street, West Newbury, Massachusetts, with proposals due August 19, 2026.
The system comprises 837 REC 410-watt modules arranged in 56 strings, totaling 343.17 kilowatts direct current (kWdc) and 312.50 kilowatts alternating current (kWac). Five SMA Sunny TriPower Core 62.5-kilowatt inverters, module-level rapid shutdown devices, and associated electrical infrastructure are included. The system operates in parallel with utility power at the Point of Interconnection within the existing main switchboard in Electrical Room 1113. Installation includes DC and AC wiring, conduit routing, grounding systems, and hybrid ballasted racking mounted on the roof at a 10-degree tilt. All work must comply with the 2023 National Electrical Code, Massachusetts Amendments, and National Grid Construction Standards, with maximum combined voltage drop of 2.841%. The Engineer of Record must approve any deviations from the construction documents.
The complete 100% Construction Document Set was issued for construction on September 27, 2023, following revisions through September 2023. Addendum 01 (posted August 6, 2026) modifies inverter requirements, battery storage specifications, monitoring system capabilities, site conditions, interconnection requirements, structural design calculations, and permitting responsibilities. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of the addendum in their proposals to be considered responsive.
The project aims to reduce operational energy costs and support renewable energy adoption. Funding sources include school district capital funds, state renewable energy incentives, and potential federal tax credits or grants. The system is designed for a 25+ year operational lifespan. No incumbent contractor, contract value, contract term, evaluation criteria, pre-bid meeting, or site visit date is identified in the available materials.
