About this opportunity
The City of Yonkers Fire Department, located in Westchester County, New York, is soliciting quotes for specialized torch and welding supplies through Request for Quotation (RFQ) 2026-1539. The procurement seeks three specific items: two Twin Line Welding Hoses (3/16" ID x 25 ft), two Miller 30 Gas Regulators, and two Cylinder HandTrucks with 400 lb capacity. Vendors must provide fixed, firm unit prices that include all shipping and delivery costs, with the City reserving the right to award based on price, availability, and lead time. Detailed technical specifications are required, particularly for any "or equal" product submissions, which must include comprehensive technical information demonstrating equivalent form and function. The final evaluation and approval of alternative products will be determined by the Yonkers Fire Department. The quote submission deadline is August 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with vendors required to specify manufacturer, make, and model numbers for all proposed items. Delivery is requested as soon as possible, and all quoted prices must encompass incidental costs including freight, packaging, materials, labor, fees, overhead, and profit.
The solicitation encourages participation from New York State Certified Minority or Women Owned Business Enterprises, though this does not appear to be a strict set-aside requirement. Vendors must submit a non-collusion certification and comply with the attached 12-month Rider Contract Provisions, which outline extensive federal compliance requirements covering equal employment opportunity, Davis-Bacon Act compliance, and various regulatory standards. Payment terms are established at Net 30 Days, and the City of Yonkers is exempt from sales and use taxes. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the procurement appears focused on specialized fire department equipment with a relatively modest scope. The contract provisions suggest potential for federal funding involvement, which brings additional regulatory oversight and compliance requirements. Vendors should be prepared to demonstrate not only competitive pricing and product specifications but also their ability to meet comprehensive federal and local regulatory standards across multiple dimensions of contract performance.
