About this opportunity
The City of Richmond Hill, Georgia is requesting proposals for the purchase of one Class A Fire Engine under RFP No. 052526-001, with sealed proposals due June 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. ET. Written questions must be submitted by June 16, 2026.
The fire engine must comply with NFPA 1901-2016 standards and 2024 NFPA standards with 2027 emissions compliance. Specifications include a custom or commercial cab chassis with a PACCAR MX-13 510 HP engine, Allison 3000 EVS transmission, a Hale or Waterous 1500 GPM fire pump, 1000-gallon water tank, and stainless steel or aluminum rescue-style body. Height cannot exceed 9 feet 9 inches; width cannot exceed 11 feet 6 inches. Proposals must provide detailed pricing for both custom and commercial cab options with all costs including preparation and delivery.
Vendors must demonstrate manufacturing capability by providing evidence of at least ten similar vehicles produced within the last two years and supply a reference list of ten agencies with contact information and purchase dates. Service capability is an award criterion; proposers must guarantee a 48-hour response time for service calls and provide detailed information on service facilities, personnel, and repair capabilities. Minimum warranty of three years is required on manufacturer-produced components, with itemized warranty specifications for the apparatus body, chassis, paint, electrical systems, and additional equipment.
The proposer must state the expected delivery timeframe and provide detailed training hour commitments. Upon 100 percent completion, City representatives will conduct an inspection, with air transportation and lodging provided if the inspection occurs more than 300 miles away. The successful proposer must provide two consecutive days of training for designated operators and deliver the apparatus with complete technical documentation. Proposals remain binding for 90 days from the RFP opening date. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and will evaluate submissions based on compliance with specifications, warranty terms, delivery estimates, and price—cost is one of several evaluation factors rather than the sole determining criterion.
