About this opportunity

The State of Maine Division of Purchases is requesting bids for seven Mobile Kitchen Trailer (MKT) Improvement Kits, with bids due March 18, 2010. The improvement kits consist of 27 military-specification component items identified by National Stock Numbers and military part numbers, including griddle assembly, grease funnel assembly, can opener, ice storage chest, lighting, electrical assemblies, exhaust fan, rubber floor mats, screen and cover assemblies, roof canopy, travel covers, and cold weather skirts.

Each trailer measures 8.5 feet wide by 20 feet long with a gross vehicle weight rating of 10,000 pounds or less, constructed with steel frame and aluminum exterior. The kits must be fully assembled and operational, equipped with three-compartment sink, commercial-grade cooking equipment (grill, fryer, griddle), food storage, potable water systems, and compliant ventilation and exhaust systems. All components must be new and meet military specifications. Trailers must comply with Maine state regulations and health and safety codes for mobile food service units.

All parts must be delivered freight-prepaid to 125 Kansas Road, Limestone, Maine 04750. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item and provide lead time after order (DARO). The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State sales and use taxes and reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities, award to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value considerations, and increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. Cash discounts of 20 days or more will be considered in determining lowest bid. Bidders proposing alternate commodities must provide complete identification and descriptive literature. All deliveries must comply with applicable Federal, State, and local laws, including the Maine Chemical Substance Identification Law requiring material safety data sheets for hazardous chemicals.
