About this opportunity
The Maine Department of Transportation is requesting quotations for the purchase of 15 high-pressure washers, with quotes due September 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. local time. A local-bidder tie-breaker applies: in case of equivalent bids, the state favors in-state bidders or those offering Maine-manufactured commodities.
The equipment specified is an oil-fired, electric motor-powered high-pressure washer with the Alkota Model 216AX4 listed as the preferred unit or approved equivalent. Required specifications include 2.0 gallons-per-minute discharge, 1600 psi pump head pressure, 120°F temperature rise with 210°F maximum operating temperature, combustion smoke ratings at Bacharach Scale #1 or #2 with carbon monoxide levels not exceeding 0.01%, four-wheeled cart, 4.5-gallon fuel tank, eight-inch stack, spray tips and nozzles, 115v 60 Hz 2.3hp single-phase electric motor, 50 feet of high-pressure hose, trigger gun, spray wand, and electrical power cord. Vendors must submit complete parts and service manuals (CD format acceptable) and may be required to provide training within eight weeks of delivery at vendor expense. Warranty is one year on parts and labor with seven years on the heating coil, or the manufacturer's standard warranty, whichever is greater.
All quotes must be submitted electronically with unit pricing and include shipping and delivery to Maine DOT Fleet Services in Scarborough, Maine. The state is tax-exempt; vendors should quote without sales tax. Bids will be evaluated on price, warranty, manufacturer's performance data, delivery schedule, parts availability, and other factors deemed appropriate by Maine DOT. Cash discounts of 20 days or longer will be considered; shorter discounts will not. The state reserves the right to reject any or all quotes and to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10 percent. Questions must be submitted through the designated Q&A link on the Solicitation Details View page.
