About this opportunity
The Georgia Forestry Commission Air Operations Unit, located in Bibb County, is seeking to procure two GE H-80-100 Propeller Governors for their Thrush 510G Switchback aircraft. The specific procurement involves acquiring Part # P-W11-4 propeller governors from GE Aviation Czech, with all associated shipping, delivery costs, tariffs, and custom fees included. This procurement is directly tied to compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airworthiness Directive AD 2020-20-14, which addresses potential safety risks related to propeller governors, including potential oil leaks, excessive wear, and improper operation that could lead to engine overspeed or in-flight shutdown. The contract opportunity was posted on September 17, 2025, with a proposal submission deadline of September 30, 2025. Potential suppliers with technical questions can contact the DOAS Customer Service Help Desk at 404-657-6000 during business hours or email ProcurementHelp@doas.ga.gov for assistance.
No specific set-aside designations or restrictions on respondent organizations were explicitly mentioned in the contract opportunity description. The procurement appears to be a standard equipment acquisition without special enterprise preferences. While no incumbent vendors were identified, the specification requires strict adherence to FAA airworthiness standards and specific technical requirements for the GE Aviation Czech H80-100 engine propeller governors. The procurement is for two specific units, suggesting a relatively focused and targeted acquisition. No explicit budget range or total award value was provided in the contract opportunity details. Vendors must demonstrate capability to supply precise aviation components that meet stringent FAA regulatory compliance standards for the Georgia Forestry Commission's air operations equipment.
Opportunity text
This specification covers the acquisition and effective delivery of two (2) GE H-80-100 Propeller Governors (GE Aviation Czech) to Georgia Forestry Commission Air Operations Unit located at 2456 Hubbard Road Macon, GA 31217 C/O: Clay Chatham. The Propeller Governors offered shall be equal with the following detailed requirements: Supplier will provide 2 (two) propeller governors for GE Aviation Czech H80-100 engine. Part # P-W11-4 to include all shipping/delivery costs and any applicable tarriffs, levy's, and/or custom fees. The Georgia Forestry Commission¿s procurement of GE H80-100 propeller governors (e.g., P-W11 series or updated variant) for the Thrush 510G Switchback aircraft must address compliance with relevant Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airworthiness Directives (ADs) to ensure airworthiness, safety, and regulatory adherence. Below is an analysis of FAA AD compliance specific to this procurement, supplementing the sole brand justification. 1. Relevant FAA Airworthiness Directive: The FAA has issued Airworthiness Directive AD 2020-20-14 (effective November 5, 2020), applicable to certain GE Aviation Czech s.r.o. (formerly Walter Engines) H80 series turboprop engines, including the H80-100 model installed on Thrush 510G aircraft. This AD addresses an unsafe condition related to propeller governors, specifically the risk of oil leaks, excessive wear, or improper operation, which could lead to engine overspeed, loss of propeller control, or in-flight shutdown. For technical questions related to the use of Team Georgia Marketplace, including assistance with finding, opening and uploading documents, suppliers have access to phone support through the DOAS Customer Service Help Desk at 404-657-6000, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET excluding State Holidays or any other day state offices are closed such as furlough days or closings in response to inclement weather.
