About this opportunity
The Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles is requesting quotes for removal, replacement, and installation of a gas-fired boiler system at the Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren, Maine, with quotes due October 26, 2009 and a mandatory on-site visit on October 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
The scope includes removal and disposal of an existing 30-year-old hot water boiler and dual-fuel oil storage tank, installation of a new gas-fired boiler with 400,000 BTU/hr capacity, plumbing and gas connections, air intake and exhaust modifications with exterior stainless steel components, creation of a separate heating zone for office areas and bathrooms, and electrical grounding. All work must comply with current State of Maine and Federal codes and be completed within 30 days of award.
Bidders must provide general liability insurance of at least $400,000, references from similar past projects, detailed warranty information for both equipment and installation, boiler manufacturer's data sheets, itemized costs, and a description of work to be performed. Delivery terms are FOB destination on site.
Evaluation weighs total cost including warranty at 80%, best and most efficient proposal at 10%, and references and recommendations at 10%. Cash discounts of 20 days or more factor into the low-bid determination; shorter discounts are disregarded. In tie-bid situations, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine. Sealed bids or electronic responses must reach the Division of Purchases office in Augusta prior to the closing date. Written questions must be submitted to Bambi Tefft Bahr, Buyer II, within 24 hours for posting on the AdvantageME website. The State reserves the right to reject all bids and to increase or decrease ordered quantities by up to 10%.
