About this opportunity
The Board of County Commissioners, Palm Beach County, Florida, is establishing a qualified-contractor list for low voltage repair and replacement services on an as-needed basis under an annual contract with an initial not-to-exceed cumulative amount of $5 million and an anticipated term of up to five years; qualification packages are due April 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the County's Facilities Development and Operations Department Capital Improvement Division, 2633 Vista Parkway, West Palm Beach. The County reserves the right to add additional qualified contractors at any time during the contract term, and contractors may submit qualification applications at any time during the contract period.
Applicants must hold valid Florida electrical contractor licensing (EC or ER) or specialty contractor licensing (EF, EY, EG, EZ, ES, or ET) for a minimum of three years. Minimum qualifying criteria include five years of relevant business experience, successfully completed construction projects valued at a minimum of $300,000 in low voltage services per year for each of the previous three years, adequate financial stability and resources, and no current or pending litigation likely to materially impact performance.
Individual work orders are anticipated to be generally less than $100,000 each, though larger orders may be issued. Work orders will be awarded to qualified contractors on a competitive basis to the lowest responsive bidder. Bonding requirements apply only to individual work orders exceeding $200,000 or where cumulative open work orders exceed $200,000; no qualification bond or public construction bond is required with the application.
Palm Beach County's Small Business Development Program applies, offering a 5% cost reduction for responsive, responsible local bidders, with additional preferences for Glades-area businesses. All contractors must register in the County's Vendor Self-Service system, maintain valid Palm Beach County business tax receipts, and comply with non-discrimination policies and human trafficking affidavits. The contract is funded through non-federal funds. Qualification application documents are available at https://pbcvssp.pbc.gov/vssprd/Advantage4, or by contacting FDO-CID-Bids@pbc.gov or (561) 233-0261.
