About this opportunity
The City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation is conducting a multi-step competitive sealed bidding process for golf course retail merchandise across four municipal facilities (Alfred "Tup" Holmes, Chastain Park, Browns Mill, and Candler Park), beginning with a prequalification phase, with the full IFB due July 23, 2026.
The scope encompasses industry-standard golf retail goods including golf balls (premium, mid-level, and economic tiers), golf gloves, clubs (drivers, fairway woods, irons, wedges, putters across three quality tiers), footwear (golf shoes and socks), accessories (ball markers, tees, golf bags, towels, range finders, divot tools), and apparel (polo shirts, outerwear, head wear in multiple tiers, and custom logoed options). The selected vendor must provide access to its full product catalog throughout the contract term, recognizing that SKUs and availability will evolve. Recognized national or regional brands are preferred. All products must be appropriate for public-course operations serving daily fee play, leagues, tournaments, school programs, and public recreation.
The anticipated contract term is three years with two one-year renewal options. The annual retail budget is $500,000, with individual order sizes potentially reaching $100,000. Orders may be placed up to weekly with a maximum 30-day lead time. Multiple vendors will be awarded contracts by product category to ensure adequate supply coverage.
Pricing will be indexed to market benchmarks based on advertised catalog wholesale prices rather than fixed for the full term, allowing cost adjustment in response to market conditions. Performance metrics include minimum 95 percent product availability based on order fill rate, maximum 5 percent defective product rate, on-time delivery compliance, and vendor responsiveness with designated contacts responding within two business days.
The prequalification phase will evaluate vendors' ability to meet schedule and deliver goods on time. A Pre-Solicitation Conference will be held to provide additional details and address questions. No set-aside or preference program is identified.
Opportunity text
The City of Atlanta on behalf of the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) will shortly undergo a multi-step competitive sealed bidding to an IFB process compromised of a prequalification phase as the initial step, followed by an Invitation for Bid (IFB) towards the procurement of Golf course merchandise and retail goods for the Public City Golf Courses of Atlanta. Interested firms will be evaluated during the prequalification phase to determine whether they meet the minimum requirements for the ability to meet schedule and deliver goods on time qualifications. The City¿s expectation is that the selected vendor will provide the merchandise and retail goods being sought are industry-standard merchandise such as golf balls, tees, gloves, towels, divot tools, hats, clubs, and other basic golf accessories, however, the contract will require access to vendors¿ full product catalogs, recognizing that SKUs, product offerings, and availability evolve throughout the contract term. A Pre-Solicitation Conference will be noticed and held to provide more details and address questions. Hope to see you there.
