About this opportunity

The City of Atlanta, on behalf of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, is conducting a multi-step sealed bid process for the purchase, installation, setup, preventive maintenance, onsite repair, service, and parts support of commercial-grade fitness equipment at AFRD locations, with a prequalification phase due June 30, 2026 and an IFB to follow.

The scope encompasses eighteen equipment groups: cardio machines (upright bikes, treadmills, ascent trainers, fan bikes, rowing machines, climb mills), functional trainers, free weights (medicine balls, kettlebells, dumbbells), and accessories (storage racks, foam rollers, exercise mats, stability balls, adjustable benches). Vendors must demonstrate the ability to deliver, install, balance, and test all equipment at assigned AFRD locations and provide four hours of minimum instruction on proper and safe equipment use. Service requirements include preventive maintenance, onsite repair, certified technician support, and parts replacement with 90 percent of required parts supplied within 24 hours and the remaining 10 percent within 72 hours.

Bidders must specify "Compliance" or "Exception" for each detailed requirement across all equipment groups. All equipment must be currently in production and meet manufacturer standard specifications with applicable industry standards compliance. Warranty terms range from 90 days for wear items to ten years for frames and structural components depending on equipment type. Bidders must submit electronic manuals and parts documentation upon request. Subcontractors are permitted but must be fully disclosed and complete required Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act forms. The City reserves the right to reject bids that do not comply with specification requirements or fail to meet inspection and quality assurance standards.

A Pre-Solicitation Conference will be noticed to provide additional details and address questions. Bid prices must remain firm for a specified period from opening.
