About this file

This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) specification document issued by the City of Atlanta Department of Procurement on behalf of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department for the purchase and support of commercial-grade fitness equipment. The solicitation encompasses eighteen groups of equipment and services, including cardio machines (upright bikes, treadmills, ascent trainers, fan bikes, rowing machines, and climb mills), strength training equipment (functional trainers), free weights (medicine balls, kettlebells, and dumbbells), accessories (storage racks, foam rollers, exercise mats, and stability balls), and adjustable benches. Additional service requirements include installation and setup at multiple Atlanta Fire Rescue locations, four hours of minimum instruction on proper and safe equipment use, preventive maintenance, and onsite repair and parts support. The IFB requires bidders to specify either "Compliance" or "Exception" for each detailed requirement across all equipment groups, with specific technical specifications, warranty terms, and performance standards outlined for each item category.

Bidders must demonstrate the ability to supply 90 percent of required parts within 24 hours and the remaining 10 percent within 72 hours, and must provide original manufacturer warranties ranging from 90 days for wear items to ten years for frames and structural components depending on the equipment type. The specification requires that all equipment be currently in production and meet manufacturer standard specifications, with materials and goods complying with applicable industry standards. Bidders must submit electronic manuals and parts documentation upon request and are responsible for all costs associated with testing, inspections, plant facility inspections, and potential onsite visits by City representatives. Subcontractors are permitted but must be fully disclosed in bid submissions and complete required Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act forms. The City reserves the right to reject bids that do not comply with specification requirements or fail to meet inspection and quality assurance standards.
