About this opportunity

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Police Department is seeking a uniform vendor to supply specialized uniforms for its Special Operations and Special Response Teams (SpecOps/SRT) through a competitive procurement process. The solicitation (Reference #2094090) specifically requires the procurement of 5.11 brand tactical uniforms, including long and short-sleeve shirts, various pants styles, jackets, and parkas in dark Navy color for male and female officers. Key requirements include maintaining an adequate inventory of uniforms in sizes ranging from SM-5XL, providing comprehensive on-site tailoring services, and customizing uniforms with DART Police shoulder patches, division emblems, rank chevrons, cloth badges, and name tabs at no additional cost. The procurement requires the selected contractor to have a physical facility with at least two fitting rooms and a seamstress available during all operational hours to ensure proper uniform fitting and professional appearance. The solicitation was posted on August 26, 2025, with proposals due by September 1, 2025, and requires mandatory registration on the Bonfire platform to access detailed bidding information.

While no specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions were explicitly mentioned in the documentation, the procurement emphasizes local service capabilities within DART's service area. The estimated total procurement includes approximately 195 uniform pieces across 11 different item types, with individual item quantities ranging from 4 to 50 units. The contract appears to be competitively bid with unit pricing that must include all associated costs such as supervision, labor, equipment, materials, warehousing, and freight charges. No price adjustments will be permitted unless specifically outlined in the purchase order. The uniform contract will be governed by Dallas Area Rapid Transit's purchase order terms and conditions, which include provisions for Texas state law, tax exemptions, and equal opportunity employment requirements. While a specific budget range was not disclosed, the comprehensive uniform procurement suggests a moderate-value contract focused on maintaining a consistent, professional appearance for DART's specialized police units.
