About this opportunity

The Fitzgerald Water, Light & Bond Commission is seeking sealed bids for the construction of the Polar Beverage No. 1 Pump Station, a project serving the Fitzgerald Utility Land Application System located in Bartow County, Georgia. The procurement is specifically for a comprehensive infrastructure development project involving the construction of a new pump station, which includes piping, a wet well, generator, and miscellaneous infrastructure components. Contractors submitting bids must be licensed by the State of Georgia and are required to include their license number on the bid envelope. Bids will be received until 3:00 p.m. on March 20, 2025, at the Commission Chambers located at 103 West Central Avenue in Fitzgerald, GA. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond of not less than ten percent (10%) of the base bid, and no bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the closing time. Contract documents can be obtained from Ingram & Associates Consulting Engineers for $200 per hard copy set or $100 for a digital set, with plans available for review at multiple locations including the Fitzgerald Water, Light and Bond offices and the Dodge Plan Room in Macon.

The procurement appears to have no specific set-aside designations or restrictions on organizational respondents, maintaining an open competitive bidding process. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the project will be funded through a combination of GEFA, COVID ARPA Funds, and Local Funds, suggesting potential flexibility in funding sources. Contractors must use a surety company licensed in Georgia with an "A" minimum rating and financial strength. Successful bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract amount. Though a specific award value is not explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the infrastructure project—involving pump station construction, piping, wet well, and generator installation—indicates a substantial capital investment. The project represents a significant municipal infrastructure development aimed at enhancing utility system capabilities in the Fitzgerald area.
